This learning activity required us to "convey meaning by using simple shapes and space." It was an enjoyable challenge, especially as my free-hand drawing skills are not the best. We were given six words to represent with black squares, then were also asked to provide examples of business cards or advertisements demonstrating those words. This is how I interpreted the assignment.

The business cards, from top to bottom, are representative of the words: bold; congested; increase; order; playful; tension.

  1. Cool assignments. I love tasks like the top one. I also want those 'nice parking' cards. I have often fantasised about making up my own mock council fine for people who park on the footpath and block safe pram and wheelchair access, in order to kindly allow other cars buckets of space on the street.

  2. I think that's a very socially responsible way of putting graphic design skills to use. You should do it!
