Here is my assignment 'Use The Scanner To Tell A Story". My image is very dodgy, quality wise, and the objects I have selected are a bit literal for my liking. I've had a lot of trouble with equipment. I don't have a decent scanner, and had to use a friend's. Once I returned home I realised I hadn't saved my first go at this image. So I've used a junky old scanner that my parents were throwing out. This is what I came up with. I'm not impressed. But I am very much a beginner, and there is definitely room for improvement!!

The requirement was just to use the scanner to tell a story. I read - or misread - it as tell a story about yourself. That is why I've picked really obvious objects which point to aspects of my personality or activities. However, I now realise I could have told a story about anything. Must think more laterally!

  1. I love the scanner as a camera. Try 3D objects and leave the scanner lid open, and you get this nice sense of things floating in a receding space.
